## Prohibited signs in Alma

- No sign shall be erected or continued unless it is in full compliance with this Chapter and all applicable laws of the Town and the State.
- It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, alter, construct, reconstruct or remove any sign without first obtaining a permit from the Town, unless specifically permitted by another section of this Article.

- Signs using any sound- or noise-making or transmitting device separately for advertising purposes beyond the confines of a building or lot are prohibited.
- Signs that block any window, doorway or opening required for ventilation, light or exit as per the building code are prohibited.
- Signs or posters on or projecting into any public right-of-way are prohibited, except public signs.
- Balloons exceeding three cubic feet of air, pennants, or wind-powered devices are prohibited.
- Roof signs are prohibited.
- Searchlights are prohibited.
- Strings of light bulbs, other than traditional holiday decorations, are prohibited.
