## Prohibited signs in Washington

- No sign may obstruct any window, door, fire escape, balcony, platform, stairway, ladder, stack, vent pipe, or building egress (N101.14).
- Dangerous or structurally unsafe signs are prohibited and must be removed or made safe upon order of the code official (N101.13).
- Signs in public space are prohibited unless specifically approved by the code official (N101.7.8).
- Advertising signs or banners may not be carried or transported on or over public space (except as expressly exempted for certain vehicles, labor dispute signs, and non-commercial messages) (N101.7.9).
