## Prohibited signs in Maurice River Township

- No sign of any type shall be permitted to obstruct driver vision, traffic signals, traffic directional and identification signs, other places of business signs, or windows of buildings on which they are located, or fire escapes, doors or ventilation openings.
- No sign shall be attached to trees, fence posts, stumps, utility poles, bridges, culverts, or other signs.

- No attached sign shall be higher at any point than the roof line of the building to which it is attached.

- All signs and their supports, braces, guys, and anchors must be kept in repair and in proper state of preservation; signs must not be allowed to deteriorate or become dilapidated.
- Off-site commercial or private signs are prohibited except as expressly permitted within the code.
- Temporary signs may not exceed thirty-two (32) square feet in area on one (1) side.
- The advertisement on any temporary sign must pertain only to the business or activity conducted on the premises where it is erected.
- No outdoor, off-site advertising sign, other than signs advertising agricultural roadside stands, shall be permitted except as specifically detailed by zoning districts and conditions.

- If a use proposes a sign type not generally approximated in Section 35-8.13D, review and approval by the Land Use Board is required except that a Zoning Officer may issue a permit for one sign up to 50 sq ft if it meets applicable setbacks.
