## Prohibited signs in Emerald Isle

- No sign of any type, or any part thereof, shall be erected, painted, posted, placed, replaced or hung in any zoning district except in compliance with Section 6.6.
- No sign shall be erected so as to obstruct any fire escape, required exit, window, or door opening intended as a means of egress.
- No sign shall be erected that interferes with any opening required for ventilation and/or light to a structure.
- Signs shall maintain all clearance from electrical conductors in accordance with the Town electrical code and shall not interfere with or impede any other utility equipment and/or lines.
- Signs and their supporting structures shall maintain clearance and noninterference with all surface and underground facilities and conduits for water, sewage, gas, electricity, or communications equipment or lines and not interfere with natural or artificial drainage, or surface or underground water.
- Canopies, awnings, or similar sign structures exceeding twenty-five (25) square feet shall be drained to prevent dripping or flowing onto public sidewalks or streets and connected to an approved disposal source.
