## Prohibited signs in Harlingen

- No sign shall be placed or maintained on the city right-of-way unless a 'license to encroach' has been issued by the city commission, except for awning or suspended signs in the downtown district overlay that maintain proper clearance and do not project more than two-thirds the distance of the existing sidewalk.
