PermitPal is an AI-powered compliance platform that turns hours of manual zoning and sign-code research into instant, citation-backed answers. Enter an address, we return the rules – wall, monument, window, EMC, etc.
What counts as a lookup?
A single search of one address or parcel. We geo-locate, match the zoning layer, and return sign-specific rules with citations. You’ll only burn another credit if you run a different address.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time?
Absolutely. Plan changes take effect immediately and are prorated to the second. If you cancel, service continues until the end of your billing cycle.
Is there an API?
Yes, we offer API endpoints for bulk lookups and embedding data into your internal dashboards. This feature is available on Custom plans.
Do you support GPS coordinate searches?
Yes! You can search by entering latitude and longitude coordinates directly. Perfect for undeveloped sites or when you only have GPS data. The system will find the jurisdiction and zoning just like with regular addresses.

Click “Request City” after a search – our data team usually onboards new cities within 48 hours but often much faster.
What are Excel templates and how do they work?
Create custom web templates to view permit data your way, or send us your Excel forms for white-glove template creation. During searches, generate completed Excel files with one click – no manual data entry required.
How does credit-based pricing work?
Every lookup (one address → one zoning district → full sign regulations) costs a credit. Plans include a bundle of credits each month, and you can buy more at a flat rate when you go over. Coverage spans 7,000+ cities in every tier – no per-state upsells.
What happens if I exceed my included credits?
We simply add the overage rate to your next invoice – $15 on Flex and $10 on Pro. Custom plans include unlimited credits.
How accurate are the regulations and AI summaries?
Every rule is pulled from municipal code, zoning map, or adopted ordinance. The AI summary shows inline citations so you can verify in a single click.
Can my team share an account?
Yes! Flex and Pro plans allow unlimited team members at no extra cost. Everyone shares the same credit pool and can collaborate on templates. Team owners manage members and track usage. Custom plans offer team structure options for larger organizations.
