Prohibited Signs in Ontario

  • No sign (including copy change or temporary signs) shall be approved or a permit issued except in conformance with Table 2.02-1 (Review Matrix), Section 4.03.020 (Sign Plans), and Division 8.01.
  • No sign shall be erected, constructed, attached, affixed, or maintained on any property except in conformity with Division 8.01, unless expressly exempted by Section 8.01.010 (Exempt Signs).
  • It is illegal to use, occupy, or maintain property in violation of Division 8.01; violations are punishable under OMC Title 1, Chapter 2 (Penalty Provisions).
