Exempt Signs in Kenneth City
- Public signs of a noncommercial nature and in the public interest erected by or on the order of a public officer in the performance of his public duty, such as safety signs, danger signs, no-trespassing signs, rezoning signs, traffic signs, memorial plaques, directional signs, signs of historical interest and the like.

The maximum total area of all exempted signs for any institution shall not exceed 48 square feet. Each face of a sign shall be included in the computation of allowable sign area.
- Integral names of buildings, dates of erection, monumental citations, commemorative tablets and the like when carved into stone, concrete or similar material or made of bronze, aluminum or other permanent-type construction and made an integral part of the structure and not in excess of ten square feet in area.
- Private traffic direction signs directing traffic movement onto a premises or within a premises not exceeding ten square feet in area for each sign. Horizontal directional signs on and flush with paved areas outside of public right-of-way are exempt from these standards.
- Signs on benches and shelters are not governed by this article when permitted by written authorization of the town council.
- Signs which are designed to display either a bill of fare, menu, etc., of a business located on the same parcel, provided: not readable from any adjacent right-of-way; not used in computing the total allowable signage of the business; and meet all applicable building and electrical codes.
