- No signs shall be placed so as to violate any section of this chapter or Chapter 154, Subdivision Control.
- No sign shall be located less than 15 feet from any public right-of-way line or property line.
- No business sign shall be erected or maintained at any location where by reason of its position, wording, size, shape, color or illumination it may obstruct, obscure, impair, or interfere with the view of, or be confused with any traffic control device, signal or sign.
- No illuminated sign shall be permitted within 50 feet of any Residential District unless it is so designed that it does not reflect or shine light onto the district.
- Portable signs, pennants, banners, or similar devices shall not obstruct a clear view of traffic or traffic signals, and must be placed entirely within the confines of the property, off all right-of-ways.
- Portable signs shall not emit any flashing lights or lighted moving devices.
- No more than one portable device shall be displayed on the same parcel unless there is a minimum of 60 feet between each device.
- Off-premises signs and/or billboards are prohibited within the corporate limits of the city and the 2-mile unincorporated area unless a variance is granted.
- No intermittent flashing or animated signs shall be permitted.
- Signs which are no longer functional, or are abandoned, shall be removed within 30 days of dysfunction.
- No sign painted on buildings shall be exempt from regulation; such signs are regulated as any other sign.
- Signs may not extend over public sidewalks unless permitted, and must be at least 7 feet above the sidewalk.
- It is unlawful to erect, place, or stand any signs, temporarily or permanently, between the property line and the curb line on any public street.
