Sign Plan & Submission Notes for Nevada

  • Temporary flag banners over Lincoln Highway at Sixth Street require a Temporary Permit obtained by submitting an Application to the Planning and Zoning Commission that includes detailed information on the event, sponsor, banner size and message, building‑owner permissions, liability acceptance and indemnification, and proof of insurance coverage; the Planning and Zoning Commission acts on this application as a condition of allowing the banner.
  • Any installation, modification, or expansion of any sign that is not exempt must obtain a sign permit before installation, through application to the Building Official, including payment of required fees, review and action within ten working days, and compliance with expiration, assignment, and maintenance‑of‑permit requirements.
  • Off‑premises electronic signs advertising events or commercial products or services for sale are only allowed if the owner has applied for and received a valid permit to operate and maintain such off‑premises sign.
  • Business center identification signs (center identification signs) are allowed only subject to additional conditions in Note 1 to Table 165.20‑4, including spacing from other center identification and detached signs and content limitations; these conditions effectively function as a site‑level sign plan constraint for business centers.
