  • No sign shall be erected containing a message that states or implies that a property may be used for any purpose not permitted in the zoning district or by duly authorized variance in which said sign is located.
  • No sign shall be placed on any tree, telegraph, electric light or public utility pole, or upon rocks or other natural features or within a public right-of-way, except as otherwise specifically permitted.
  • Any sign installed or placed on public property, except in conformance with the requirements of this section, shall be forfeited to the public and subject to removal.
  • No sign other than traffic control or similar official governmental signs shall be erected within or project over the right-of-way of any public street or sidewalk, except as otherwise provided.
  • Signs identifying franchise operations or corporation logos shall conform to the criteria for all other signs.
  • No sign shall contain characters or graphics exceeding three inches in relief from the sign face (excepting viewpoint signs where allowed).
  • The maximum distance between the faces of a double-faced sign shall not exceed 24 inches; no wall sign shall project more than 12 inches from the plane of the attaching surface.
  • No sign shall be erected within the clear sight distance triangle unless the topmost portion is less than 30 inches high; in no case shall any sign be erected that impedes visibility of motorists or pedestrians or endangers safety.
  • No person may, for the purpose of increasing or enhancing the visibility of a sign, damage, trim, destroy, or remove any trees, shrubs, or other vegetation within the right-of-way of any public street or road (unless allowed by approved site plan), on property not under their ownership (unless authorized by the property owner), or in areas where landscaping is required to remain under Board approval or permit.
  • No sign shall be exhibited which is portable (fixed on a movable stand, self-supporting without being firmly embedded, mounted on wheels or movable vehicles, or made easily movable in some other manner).
