Sign Plan & Submission Notes for Point Pleasant Beach Borough
- Any sign on any one tax lot shall be part of a sign plan for the entire tax lot. Where there is more than one building or storefront on one tax lot, the sign plan may be limited to that one building or storefront. A sign permit shall not be issued for any sign on any such tax lot, building or storefront unless it is part of a complete sign plan. (§ 17-9)
- Signs for any one tax lot, building or storefront shall be considered as a unitary application.
- Private parking signs and functional signs must be part of an initial site plan application and are considered as part of the sign plan of any tax lot.
- Waivers or deviations may be granted by the Planning Board or Zoning Board; such waivers/deviations are only by discretionary approval of the respective Board through an appeal process or as part of an application pending before them.
- If a sign permit application is denied or approved with conditions by the enforcement officer, the applicant may appeal to the Planning Board, which may consider waivers at its discretion.
- If a waiver is granted to allow a sign to be located on a different tax lot, building, or storefront, the sign must be included on the sign plan of that tax lot, building, or storefront.
- All applications for a sign permit must include all proposed signs on the tax lot for which the application has been made.
