Prohibited Signs in Sweden

  • No signs, balloons, banners, posters, or flags are permitted to be attached to any utility pole or to any traffic control signs or devices. (§175-30C(1))
  • No signs, banners, posters, flags, tents, or searchlights are permitted that do not comply with applicable state or federal regulations (e.g., FAA). (§175-30C(2))
  • Only one freestanding permanent sign is permitted on any one parcel, regardless of district. (§175-30C(4))
  • Except as otherwise specifically allowed, off-site advertising signs are not permitted unless located on the premises of the business or event, and permission must be obtained from the off-site property owner. (§175-30C(6))
  • Except for vehicles offered for sale or lease, no vehicles exceeding 3/4 ton capacity or trailers owned or operated by any business on the premises may be parked or stored nearer to the road than the front of the building; all vehicles on the property must be licensed and inspected.   • Political campaign signs (ground- or building-mounted) under 'ALL' do not require a permit, provided they are placed no sooner than 45 days before election day and removed within 48 hours after election day.
  • Temporary daily or A-frame signs for businesses in Incentive-Mixed Use, B-1, B-2, B-3, I-1, I-2, and I-3 (6 square feet, 5 feet high, one per business within 40 feet of the building and removed at end of day) do not require a permit, as indicated in Table A.
