Prohibited Signs in Inglis

  • It is unlawful for any person to erect, cause to be erected, maintain, or cause to be maintained any sign without full compliance with the restrictions, requirements and provisions of this article, or to otherwise violate any provisions of this article. Each day a violation occurs or continues constitutes a separate offense. (Sec. 34-563(b))
  • No sign or sign structure shall be erected, altered, displayed, changed, except exempt signs, until after a permit and license has been issued by the building official and a fee paid to the town. (Sec. 34-565(a))

  • Outdoor advertising signs (billboards) are prohibited from being erected, replaced or moved onto any property. Billboards that are damaged in excess of 50% of their assigned value may not be rebuilt and must be removed; no new outdoor advertising signs are allowed. (Sec. 34-576)
  • No new conforming sign or sign structure shall be permitted to be erected for the same occupancy with an existing nonconforming sign until the nonconforming sign has been removed or made conforming. (Sec. 34-578)
  • Nonconforming signs must be removed or brought into conformity before a conforming sign can be installed for the same occupancy. (Sec. 34-578)
