  • No sign may extend above any parapet or be placed upon any roof surface, except as specified.
  • No sign attached to a building may project more than 12 inches from the building wall.
  • No sign within 150 feet of a residential zone may be illuminated between midnight and 6:00 a.m. unless the impact is inconsequential.
  • No sign may contain or be illuminated by flashing or intermittent lights or lights of changing degrees of intensity, except for signs indicating the time, date, or weather conditions.
  • No illuminated tubings or strings of lights that outline property lines, sales areas, rooflines, doors, windows, or similar areas are permitted unless the lighting is integral to the sign or building design and approved by the Zoning Administrator.

  • No sign may be erected so that by its location, color, size, shape, nature, or message it would obstruct the view of or be confused with official traffic signs or other government signs.
  • Freestanding signs must be securely fastened to the ground or some other substantial supportive structure so that there is virtually no danger of movement by the wind or other forces.
  • No person may, for the purpose of enhancing visibility of a sign, damage, trim, destroy, or remove any trees, shrubs, or other vegetation in the public right-of-way, on others’ property, or areas protected by permit unless expressly authorized.
  • No nonconforming signs may be enlarged or altered to increase nonconformity, nor may illumination be added.
