  • Any sign which is erected, placed or maintained by any person on a rock, fence, trees or any similar surfaces.
  • Any sign which interferes with any electric light or power, telephone, telecommunication or telegraph wires, or the supports thereof.
  • Any sign containing electrical wiring which does not conform to the city electrical code or the components thereof do not bear the label of any approved testing agency.
  • Any sign which uses materials or designs in violation of any section of this Code.
  • Any window sign or signs which exceed 25 percent of the total area of the window on or in which it is displayed.
  • The use of signs in vehicles or trailers which are parked on a public right-of-way, public property or private property so as to be visible from a public right-of-way where the apparent intent is to advertise a product or direct people to an activity located on the same or nearby property are prohibited. (Signs affixed to vehicles where the sign is incidental to the use of the vehicle are not prohibited.)
  • No sign, including a temporary sign, shall be placed or maintained so as to interfere with the delivery of city service, including, but not limited to, snow plowing and boulevard maintenance.
  • No sign shall be erected or maintained in such place and manner as to obstruct driver vision, or is noxious, annoying or hazardous because of method of lighting, illumination, reflection or location.
  • All illuminated signs shall be designed, shielded, located and directed so as to prevent the casting of glare or direct light from the illumination upon the adjacent public right-of-way and surrounding property. All illuminated signs shall have shielded light sources.

  • Directional signs not more than two in number identifying the location and nature of a building, structure, or use which is not readily visible from the street, serving such building, structure, or use on lands forming part of the site of such buildings, structure, or uses, provided that each sign is not more than ten square feet in total area, bears no advertising, and is removed within seven days after termination of the function.
  • Signs not exceeding nine square feet in area located upon private property and directed toward the prevention of trespassing.
