Prohibited Signs in Akron Borough

  • No inflatable structures shall be permitted on the premises of nonresidential properties.
  • No open flames shall be permitted as part of a sign or in any other way to attract attention.
  • No signs for permitted nonresidential uses in residential districts shall be illuminated when the nonresidential use is closed.
  • All signs shall be removed within three months if the purpose for which they were erected no longer exists.
  • No temporary sign shall contain any moving parts, use flashing or intermittent illumination, nor cast light of such intensity or brilliance as to cause noxious glare to be upon any dwelling or mixed use dwelling on a separate lot.
  • No more than one temporary sign shall be permitted for each lot (unless otherwise specifically allowed by sign type).
  • No temporary sign shall be located outside the property lines of the premises to which it relates.

Exempt Signs in Akron Borough
