- Sign lighting that is not effectively shielded to prevent beams/rays from being directed at any portion of the traveled ways of an interstate highway system, freeway, non-freeway primary highway, City street, or private street, and that is of such intensity or brilliance as to cause glare or impair the vision of the driver, or otherwise interferes with the driver’s operation of a motor vehicle.

- Non-illuminated sandwich board signs or A-frame signs (subject to conditions including specified location areas; size/placement limits; not creating visual obstruction; displayed during business hours and removed from the sidewalk by 2 a.m. and not placed before 6 a.m.).
- One sign per building per street front for businesses occupying a zero-lot line building (multi-tenant buildings allowed one sign per tenant).
- Signs not exceeding 4 feet tall and 2 feet wide.
- Sandwich board/A-frame sign placement on the sidewalk: within 2.5 feet from the building wall (or within 2.5 feet from the back of the curb) while leaving a minimum free and clear passage on the sidewalk of at least 60 inches.
- Sandwich board/A-frame signs must not otherwise create or cause a visual obstruction as defined by Chapter 53 of the Municipal Code.

- Where erected under a state statute or court order, a sign may exceed size standards or otherwise deviate to the extent expressly required by that statute or court order; otherwise it must conform to Code standards.
