Prohibited Signs in Lockhart

  • Sign lighting, other than neon tube lighting, is prohibited if it exceeds 100 nits between sunset and sunrise, exceeds 300 nits between sunrise and sunset, or causes any direct or undiffused illumination to be visible from any roadway or any residential district.
  • Portable or mobile signs not permanently affixed to the ground or a structure are prohibited, except as provided in subsection 46-7(17).
  • Unless required by law or otherwise allowed or permitted by these regulations, no sign or its appurtenances may be placed on, over, within, or across a public street or right-of-way, except as exempted (development identification, marquee, wall signs, governmental signs, banners, portable signs in specific districts).
  • No sign or appurtenance may be placed on, over, within, or across any land held in trust for the use of the public by any governmental or quasi-governmental agency.
  • Placement of signs on any utility pole, street light, street sign, traffic control device or tree is prohibited.
